Galway Dance Project was delighted to recieve funding  from Galway City Council’s Emergency Covid Response fund. This fund was set up to allow groups to deliver projects which responded to the Covid 19 emergency, allowing access to initiatives which promote wellbeing and both physical and mental health at this difficult time.

This fund was administered by the Department of Rural and Community Development.

This funding is being used to faciliate workshops around wellbeing, dance and movement with dance artist, Patricia Glynn. Patricia will facilitate both online and in person workshops with over 55’s groups and with Cope staff and volunteers in September.

Patricia is also developing a new dance piece, around mental health and wellbeing in men, with dance artists Leighton Morrison, Mintesinot Wolde and Jérémie Cyr-Cooke. See a video of this development of the project HERE This project is also funded by Galway county council, and filming and editing is by Kristyn Fontanella.

Galway Dance Project is grateful to Galway city council and to the Department of Rural and Community Development for this valuable support.
