Galway Dance Project was delighted to recieve funding for two projects from Galway City Council’s Covid Emergency Fund which funded organisations to deliver projects which promoted wellbeing and mental health in our community. This fund was administered by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
We used this funding to work with dance artist Patricia Glynn to deliver a programme focusing on delivering free dance workshops, both online and in person, to older people in our community. These workshops promoted wellbeing and good physical and mental health at this difficult time.
Patricia ran an online dance class connecting grandparents and their grandchildren through dance, and also ran an outdoor dance class in Renmore.
Huge thanks to Patricia, the participants and to Galway City Council and the Department of Rural and Community Development for supporting these projects.
