This workshop will explore themes from their choreographic project LIMES looking at boundaries through many perspectives. LIMES aims to compare site, the movement of people and dance, with a focus on boundaries, seen from several aspects. A voyage from the study of the landscape to human relationships. Borders are everywhere (walls, roads, coasts, rivers, houses, lakes, states, horizons…) and every limit has a purpose: design (natural or not), protection, separation, and also connection between two different parts. People are often directed by the space so they move into a limited direction. But direction can also be a specific choice of a person and this choice can affect the movement of others. In this way boundaries are not only made by constructions and landscape, but are made also by human behaviours.

In the workshop, the theme of boundaries will be explored by means of guided improvisation, investigating physical and human aspects. The workshop will focus on somatic movement, the smoothness of the body in the space and releasing it to the air and to the floor. It will highlight gravity, weight and fluidness, studying sequences of movement and using movement to find many different ways to move in the space and in relationship with others to create dance.
